I love these things! Just got my first batch of Nexpods and have been happily making Lavazza and Vergnano Espresso, both of which I sorely missed since switching to the Nespresso System.

I am curious, though, how much tamping you recommend: Just a little squeeze or pack it tightly?

  2. NexPod Says:

You can press the coffee in the pod for a stronger espresso. Just grind the coffee at the right grade (about 4 on a scale 1-8) and the espresso will be perfect.

  4. NexPod Says:

    User XXX: Hi,
Using NexPod can be a reason for Nespresso to decline my warranty? I’ve heard that using wrong capsules can cause serious damage to a machine. So I was wondering, in case that this would happen, will I loose my warranty by using wrong capsules or will NexPod give me a acceptable offer? Seems an important issue to me…

    Looking forward hearing from you!

  6. NexPod Says:

Do I loose the guarantee on my machine if I use Nexpod capsules?
The answer is NO, you dont loose the guarantee on your machine, because you are not manipulating your machine in any way, nor you use your machine in an inappropriate way or are damaging your machine by using NexPod. Even for the service there is no way to tell that a machine has used Nexpod capsules. We have done repeated cycle tests on all Nespresso machines and our product is so soft that is impossible to damage the machine.

Do I have to use the filter when making coffee? Looks like there isn’t coming very much through it. Only got a very tiny cup…

  9. NexPod Says:

    Hallo Gepisch,
tanks for your comment. Yes you have to use the filter. In fact the quantity of brewed coffee coming out of the machine /capsule depends upon the grinding grade of the coffee. Too fine = slow coffee flow. Too coarse = weak – light espresso. So adjust the grinding grade to obtain the best results. The Coffee can be pressed in the capsule. The filter avoid that the coffee powder get into the cup.
    Best Regards, NexPod

can you buy them in the UK?

  12. chas5131 Says:

Bought the Nespresso to avoid the mess and the coffee is great.
This product is more trouble than a typical expresso machine.

  13. NexPod Says:

Hello what you say is true,
but if you want to brew tea or fair trade coffee or an organic, (Biological) coffee, or true Italian coffee you have no choice. Moreover you pay more than 100$ per kg for Nespresso coffee. We prefer to pay 20$ and fill a Nexpod!

  14. c0ldj Says:

    very nice invention :)

  15. POTSla Says:

The whole point of the capsules is that the coffee is sealed and STAYS fresh. When you buy espresso grinded coffee it will perish within a week or maybe two. Are you going to drink a whole box of coffee in that time?!

  16. NexPod Says:

Yeah, you are damn right, that’s why real Espresso lover have a coffee grinder near the coffee machine and grind the beans right before brewing the espresso, just like when you drink it in a n Italian bar. That’s what NexPod are for: to brew a fresh ground espresso whit your Nespresso machine. So that’s the solution for real espresso lovers that do not like the standard Nespresso blends but want to make their own blend. So who’s brewing the real thing man?

  17. NexPod Says:
